Hi, I'm Katie!

Hi, I’m Katie and I’m so glad you’re here! Does it sometimes feel like you have stress and unresolved feelings that have been hanging around since your MySpace profile was active? Have you spent years trying to understand and analyze your feelings, attempting to overthink your way to relief, and still find yourself uncomfortable? Do everyday tasks sometimes make you feel like you’re being chased by a bear while your brain has 55 tabs open that are all making sound?

You are going to love my office, especially if you’ve been looking for a safe and cozy place where you can work on the issues you’ve been carrying the longest and have the deepest roots. Although I truly believe everyone already possesses the strength they need to heal, dark trails always feel safer with a guide. I love to help my clients find the right combination of acceptance and change that allows them to gently create the life they’ve always dreamed of. Especially when your trauma is complex, it can feel overwhelming to begin this healing adventure, so we will work together to create a plan to identify the experiences that are creating an impact, and give you the tools to feel safe while healing.

We will help you learn what your body’s limits are and set healthy boundaries, while encouraging you to face even the most dark and tangled feelings you’ve been carrying with courage (even if you need your favorite emotional support water bottle to do it). If you adore creativity, I can’t wait to help you discover new and unusual ways to approach therapy, with options for sessions that include animal-assisted therapy, arts and crafts, or maybe even tarot cards. We won't just chat, we'll help your nervous system finally feel like it’s allowed to rest.

If you have been looking for a therapist that can provide trauma therapy informed by years of experience, while prioritizing an accessible and affirming therapy frame for your sessions, you’re in the right place. I especially love helping adults who are hoping to better understand the connection between their traumatic experiences and autoimmunity or chronic illness symptoms.

My Story

I am a millenial and lifelong Lisa Frank lover. I have two kids that I love raising in Western New York with our menagerie of pets and therapy animals. We have two cats, two dogs, two horses and love feeding all the birds we can attract to our backyard. I am a lifelong equestrian, and I'm passionate about finding ways to adapt my riding to my autoimmune disorders. I am disability and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and it is a joy to create a safe, inclusive and effective space to heal trauma in Western New York.

Contact

My caseload is completely full at this time, but I am focusing all of my energy on building a community of likeminded therapists to keep the healing going.

Reach out today so we can talk about the other therapists on my team, and how they can help you!
